Step by step
How to start
-
Call or walk in. Tell us what is going on, even if you are not sure which of these it is. Working that out is part of the job.
-
We tell you what applies to you. Eligibility and cost differ by service and by person. We check and tell you plainly, before anything is done.
-
We take it from there. An assessment, a vaccine, a review, or supplies, in one visit wherever we can. If something needs to come to you, we deliver across North York and Thornhill — prescriptions free, with no minimum order.
Questions about our health services
Do I need an appointment?
For most of these, no. Walk in during store hours and a pharmacist will see you. For a longer sit-down conversation like a MedsCheck, calling 416-789-1800 first lets us set aside unhurried time for you. For travel vaccines, call well ahead, because some vaccines need more than one dose.
What do these cost?
It depends on the service, and on you. Minor ailment assessments are covered by OHIP for Ontario residents with a valid health card. Flu shots are free through Ontario’s program. Naloxone kits are free. A MedsCheck is funded by Ontario once a year for eligible patients. Travel vaccines and quit-smoking products vary. Call us and we will confirm what applies to you before you spend anything.
Can a pharmacist really prescribe?
For certain things, yes. Ontario expanded pharmacists’ scope so common, well-defined conditions can be assessed close to home. Pharmacists follow the same provincial guidance for each condition and refer you to a doctor when anything falls outside it. A prescription is written only where it is appropriate.
I am not sure which service I need.
Then start with the phone. Call 416-789-1800, describe what is going on, and we will tell you which of these fits, or point you somewhere else if none of them do.
Can you help someone I care for?
Yes. A great deal of what we do here is for the person doing the caring: a medication review of a parent’s whole list, blister packs so the week is laid out, and free local delivery so nobody has to make the trip. Call and tell us the situation.
